This month’s art piece is an environment, intended for a dialogue based video game I have been coding in Ren’Py. I decided I didn’t like the story enough so I threw it on my idea stack for later. I have new plans in the works.
In other news, I will be attending Boston Post Mortem‘s July meetup session to learn about Unity programmers in the area and their language. I feel quite joyous about it!
This concept was influenced by the Kiryuyrik spring and summer collection for 2011, pictures of which can be found at one of my favorite blogs, Haute Macabre. Secondarily I was influenced by watching episodes from season five of the new Doctor Who.
I really like The Wheel Of Time series by Robert Jordan (RIP!). Last night I decided to throw all caution to the wind and do my own interpretation of Rand al’Thor, a character who had a huge influence on me as a young person. Rand is a fighter and sorcerer, but the magic he uses is half tainted and it’s slowly driving him insane. He is in charge of a band of elite female warriors and in one of the books whenever he loses one of his own in combat he carves her as a tally into his forearm. He is destined to be the savior of the world and he is forced to lead and guide many, although he doesn’t live up to his own standards and he blames himself for a lot of bad things that happen to his friends.
