Seraph (9/11/10)

The Seraph is an alien interplanetary transport ship.

It is made of diamond coated in a jelly-like substance. The under-canopy is coated in an unknown metal. A launch involves a large laser beam being shot underneath the canopy of the ship. The evenly distributed energy concentrates and then shoots the ship up into the air. A series of timed shots will send the ship into space. Its rounded, jelly coated diamond top deflects most of the heat during the flight out of the atmosphere, and conducts the rest into a combustion chamber containing materials that only combust at high temperatures. Once in space, it is powered by high pressure internal combustion gasses which are so hot they will melt most known earth metals. The cargo chamber is cooled and insulated from the intense heat by the jelly-like substance.
